The easiest way to convert to electronic ignition is to buy the Mopar Performance conversion kit P3690789. It comes with instructions and has all new parts including the distributor, wiring harness, ballast resistor, and ignition module.
Next, go to Chrysler and get a P3690152 wiring harness (click on the wiring
diagram to get a full size version). Then make a trip to your favourite auto
store and get a new ignition module with four pins and an electronic ignition
ballast resistor with two pins. You can use the old style 5 pin module, but it
requires the dual ballast resistor and associated wiring. To use a 4 pin control
module (recommended) and single ballast resistor just eliminate the wire going
to pin 3 on the module and use a single element ballast resistor for electronic
ignition.
